On Thursday, April 18, 2013, College football Hall of Famer Donald McPherson and John Gallucci, Jr., the Medical Coordinator for Major League Soccer and President of JAG-ONE Physical Therapy collaborated to discuss education in athletics for over 100 parents, coaches, and athletes at James Caldwell High School.
James Caldwell High School Athletics and the Caldwell Gridiron Club invited the duo to speak at this free event, educating the community on a myriad of subjects relevant to the student-athlete population.
McPherson, a member of the class of 2008 College Football Hall of Fame, spoke about maintaining academic performance, dealing with the media and coaches, addressing alcohol and other drugs, recruiting student athletes and social networking sites.
Gallucci, President of JAG-ONE Physical Therapy, spoke about steroid use, sports enhancing drugs, concussions and injury prevention, rehabilitation, sports medicine and athletic conditioning.
The night ended with a 30 minute question and answer segment where attendees got to pick the brains of Gallucci and McPherson, asking questions pertinent to their day to day lives and situations. All in all it was a great night!
